Fighting Game
Have you played Stick Arena? Why don’t you make a fighting game like that but only in 3D. You’d be rich. - Sampson
-How do you know I’m not rich already…? Well I’m not rich, but hopefully oneday. Anyway, yes I’ve played Stick Arena. It’s a pretty cool Flash game. It would be nice if more than 4 players could play in a match, but I still think it’s pretty impressive what they accomplished with Flash. It’s also a testament to the high demand for action-oriented multiplayer web games.
As for me, I don’t know about a fighting game, but I do have a couple of multiplayer web games in the works. Socio City is one of them. The other one I’ll announce soon (assuming I don’t end up canning the project, it's still early). - Chris
Make my game
I seriously didn’t know Flash could do 3D like that. Great job! Your games are good but I got a killer idea for a game. I’ll tell you the idea but you have to promise you’ll make it. You’re stuck on an island with rabid monkeys. Your only defense is bananas and cocoanuts. You use the bananas to lure the monkeys toward you then when they’re close enough, you hit them on the head with a cocoanut!!!! Of course you also must watch out for head hunting pygmies. They will feast upon any who come in their way, monkey or human. There is also an active volcano that spews the blood and bones of past victims of the pygmies. If you find the holy banana scepter you can convince the monkey people to do a ritual to raise the bones of the pygmy victims. They will become your zombie army which you can harness to destroy the pygmies once and for all. You don’t have to pay me just put me in the credits. -Joey
- Wow…. Though first let me correct you, I don’t use Flash. Flash can’t do proper 3D. I use Shockwave. As for your game idea, I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it. I’m already back-logged with my own cooky game ideas. But who knows, maybe someone will read this take it upon themselves to bring your game to reality… or better yet, you can make it yourself.- Chris
Socio City
Any updates?- Mike
- Sorry, nothing new to report. Though I’m going to be posting a developer diary for the game soon, so it will be easier for folks to follow its progress. - Chris
where do i start
you have some cool web games here. what software do I need to make my own web games? TIA-Jeff
- If you’re interested in making small 2D games, check out Flash. If you want to make more complex games or you’re interested in 3D, check out Director (it authors Shockwave games). Though be warned, Director is a bit pricey and has a somewhat steep learning curve.- Chris
pointless
What u do here is pointless. All games are pointless. In a 100 years no one will care. They will laugh and all our grandkids will be ashamed that we wasted time looking at moving colored pixels. We’ll be looked back on like stoned out hippies who watched all the pretty colors. If any luck games will be banned like acid and shrooms. Freaks.-Stephin
- I think you took a wrong turn on the information Super Highway. Go here, and try again.- Chris
Forever Beta
Hey chris, when is the golf game ever going out of beta? When will you actually finish it? The game is good, but just don’t abandon it in its current state. Get to work. -Will
-I hear ya, I hear ya…. I realize I’ve been a bit slow updating the golf game and I apologize for that. I’ve been working on a few other projects that’s why progress has been a bit slow. However, I did just do a fairly significant update at the end of last month (about a week ago). I fixed a lot of bugs and added some options such as being able to disable the dialog text and music.
Additionally, I’ve begun work on Mini-Golf Deluxe, which will have all new courses and a couple of new modes. It should be done in a month or two (give or take a couple of months… ;P ). Like I said, I’m going to put up some developer diaries soon, it will include Pow Pow’s Mini-Golf Deluxe, so you can follow along with the updates and progres. - Chris
New Game?
I realize you have the golf game up on the site, but when is your next game coming. I’m talking about a game that I can actually download. Thanks. .- Sammy
- Yeah I actually just realized I haven’t released a downloadable game in over a year (February of last year to be exact)! Even the golf game is technically still in beta. But I am hoping to get a downloadable product out in the next few months. Again, sign-up to the newsletter if you want to be notified of new releases.- Chris
Blog
why don’t you have a blog? you need to get with rss feeds so I can keep track when you update this thing. - Janine
- I’ve gotten this question a couple of times. The reason I currently don’t have a blog is because everyone and their mom (I mean it literally) are on the so-called “blogosphere” yapping about whatever minute detail comes into their head. You had a peanut butter and tuna sandwich today? Good for you! You had a long and arduous bowel movement? Great! But do I really need to hear about it? Do really need a streaming news feed alerting me when your cat coughed up a large hairball? Because of this I’ve been reluctant to hop on the blog bandwagon. Plus, with this mailbag you guys dictate the topics instead of just reacting to my personal issues.
With THAT said… I am considering moving certain sections on this site into a blog format. The blog format has started to mature and has some great ways to organize and disseminate content. For example, I’m planning to add developer diaries to the upcoming games section. The developer diaries will be in blog format, so it’s easy for you guys to follow the progress and make comments and suggestions. I might transition the news section and even this mailbag into the blog format as well.
Wow, I ended writing a lot for a relatively question. Here’s the CliffsNotes for my long winded rant: I used to dislike blogs, but now I’m warming up to them and I may join the blog collective in the very near future. - Chris
