BlockHeads Clash now available on the Mac

October 11th, 2006

On Monday, I released the downloadable version of BlockHeads Clash. You can purchase it for either the Mac and PC here:

There’s a demo, but currently it’s only available for the Mac. The Mac community has been kind to Indie developers, so I wanted to show my appreciation by giving them the demo first. The PC demo will be available sometime next week.

You can download the Mac demo or play the web version here:

BlockHeads Clash now open to public testng

September 19th, 2006

The Beta of BlockHeads Clash is now open for public consumption. You can play it here:

BlockHeads Clash EX should be released sometime late next week and will be available for both the PC and Mac. In the meantime, if you have any comments or suggestions feel free to post below.

This is the 29th day I’ve been working on this game from the point of conception. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far. Again, any feedback you guys have let me know. If I get it in time, I might even be able to add some of your suggestions to the EX version.

Where did this come from (Prepare to Beta Test)?

September 9th, 2006

I’ve just about completed a small 2-3 week project. It’s a little small web game called, “BlockHeads Clash”. Here’s a screen shot:

Some of you are probably thinking, “Don’t you already have enough to do? Why are you working on ANOTHER game?” Well a few weeks ago, I received an e-mail from someone saying they really liked my games but I take too long to release new ones. He had a point. I initially posted the mini-golf web game for public consumption back in December of last year and my last proper game download release was February 2005!

We have some really cool stuff in the pipeline (Cityscape Battle, Mini-Gofl Deluxe, and Socio City). But I agree game releases have been very thin. Since I also just recently pulled Pow Pow’s Great Adventure, I thought it would be a good idea to do a quick 2-3 week project to fill the void as well as give something fresh to players. The result is BlockHeads Clash.

I also wanted to prove to myself that I could actually finish a 2-3 week project with it remaining a several week project instead of ballooing into a several month project like just about all my other games.  So after many sleepless nights and sleep filled days, the game is close to being done and I’m on day 19 since conception. Now I’m in the testing phase.

This is where you guys come in. If you would like to beta test BlockHeads Clash, simply signup to our Forum and go to this topic.

I’m looking to get the game completely done sometime late next week. So regardless, you should be able to play pretty soon.

CityScape Battle Teaser Trailer is here… Early!

August 6th, 2006

For once I actually delivered early. This weekend I found time to complete the CityScape Battle Teaser. It’s basically several snippets of fly-thrus’ from the first map plus a sneak peak of the game lobbies.

The video came out a little darker than I would have liked, but hopefully with this trailer you can get an idea of the visual style of CityScape. Keep in mind, this is just a teaser. Over the coming months we’ll be releasing more gameplay oriented videos.

Also we hoping to enter private beta testing at the end of the month. For the private beta test we’re going to most likely ask our forum members and newsletter subscribers. So if you want to get in on the private beta test, either join the forum or sign up for the newsletter.

Without further delay, here’s the teaser. Enjoy!

Render from Snow Course

July 28th, 2006

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m splitting my time between CityScape Battle and Pow Pow’s Mini-Golf Deluxe. This past week I’ve been working furiously on Mini-Golf Deluxe. I’ve begun work on one of the two new courses. One of the new courses will take place in the snow. All the putting greens are completed and now I’m just working on modeling the rest of the course objects and terrain.

Here’s an early render of the course.

Teaser Trailer Coming Soon

July 28th, 2006

Last week, I finished a huge bulk of work on CityScape Battle. I’ve been contemplating doing the trailer now but I want to add two new features before I spend time creating the trailer. Creating a decent looking trailer is about 1-2 day job.

Though for the next week, I’ll be focusing on Mini-Golf Deluxe so I’m not sure when exactly I’ll be begin working on the Cityscape Battle Trailer. Most likely in about 2-3 weeks from now….

But it will be worth the wait. I promise.

CityScape Battle Teaser

June 29th, 2006

I haven’t officially announced CityScape Battle yet, but I wanted to give you guys a sneak peak of the game I’ve been working furiously on the past several months.

In the coming weeks I’ll officially kick off the CityScape Battle dev diary and post tons of info, pictures, and gameplay movies. For now I’ll “tease” you with this one screen shot.

CityScape Battle is an online multiplayer team-based aerial combat game (That was a mouthful).

What’s so Deluxe?

June 29th, 2006

Hello all, welcome to the first entry of the Pow Pow’s Mini-Golf Deluxe dev diary. If you haven’t already, go over and play the web version of Pow Pow’s Mini-Golf:

The Deluxe version will expand upon this web game. The Deluxe version will be a downloadable game for both the PC and Mac.

So what makes it Deluxe? Well we’re looking* to have two new courses as well as a small indoor arena for you to create your own little course. The downloadable will not only give you full-screen support but much improved load times. I can also add even more objects to the courses since I don’t have worry so much about the file size of the game. People who are fans of the web game will surely love the new Deluxe version.

One of the questions I get asked a lot is that will the current web game stay free. Not only will the web game remain free but it will stay as-is. Meaning, I’m not going to restrict or cripple the game at all once the Deluxe version is out. Currently the web version has a full 18-hole course that is free to play unlimitedly. But I’m so confident that the Deluxe version will offer enough new content for players, that if you enjoy the web game you’ll be really intrigued by the Deluxe version so I don’t miind giving away a 18 hole course. Enjoy it!

Progress on Mini-Golf Deluxe is slow but steady. The majority of my resources is going toward CityScape Battle right now. Still, I’m currently modeling all the holes for the new courses. I’ll post some wireframes in a few days (nothing too exciting though). Once the holes are complete, I’ll work on the course terrain.

The nice thing about this Mini-Golf game is that the majority of the code is pretty much done and tested, thanks to the web game. I basically just need to generate content, which I’ve become efficient at doing so it shouldn’t take too long to get the Deluxe version out the door (assuming nothing else gets in the way….).

So check back next week and I should have something new to show.
